Financing comparison

Compare on what actually matters

Two facilities of the same size can work very differently once you look at tenure, fees, security and conditions together. A comparison is only useful when it looks at the whole deal.

The six things we compare

A headline number is just one line in a facility letter. These are the lines that decide whether it works for you.

Structure

Term loan, revolving line, receivables-backed or asset-backed — each works differently in a slow month.

Tenure and repayment

How long the repayment runs and how fast the loan amount comes down.

Total cost

Interest plus processing, insurance, early-settlement and other charges over the full term.

Security and guarantees

What is pledged, what is charged, and who personally stands behind it.

Conditions

Drawdown conditions, reporting requirements and any clauses that limit future borrowing.

Speed and certainty

How long approval is likely to take and how firm the indication is.

Financing options being reviewed side by side

Comparing routes, not just offers

  • Bank facilities: usually the lowest cost, but with strict documentation requirements
  • Private funders: faster and more flexible, priced for the risk they take on
  • Other financing providers: useful where an asset or invoice supports the case
  • Scheme-assisted lending, where the company genuinely qualifies
  • Re-terming with your existing lender, which is sometimes the cheapest option
  • Waiting, when your case will look much better in a few months

The routes differ in more than price. Read how the three financing routes differ.

Questions owners ask

Do you show a rate table?

No. Published rates mean little until a provider has assessed your file. We compare structures and total cost once we have real figures to work with.

How many providers do you approach?

As few as needed. A short list of providers that genuinely suit you works better than a wide net.

Can I compare an offer I already have?

Yes. Bring us the facility letter and we will explain plainly what it costs and what it commits you to over the full tenure.

Is the comparison biased toward any provider?

We start from your position, not from a list of providers we favour. If a route doesn't suit you, we say so.

Have an offer on the table?

Bring the facility letter. We will set out plainly what it costs and what it commits your business to.
